MILAN DESIGN WEEK: DAY 4 HIGHLIGHTS
Category: Photography
1- Insieme — Sabato De Sarno
Viale Tunisia 35 — until 26 April
Sabato De Sarno’s most human project yet. Presented at Piscina Cozzi in collaboration with Vanity Fair, Insieme brings together twelve Italian craft companies across six material families — glass, ceramic, metal, stone, wood, textile — not to showcase finished products, but to make visible everything that precedes them: hands, time, choice, the weight of a gesture. Artist JR transforms the building’s facade into a collective portrait of the 72 artisans involved. In an age of speed and automation, this is a quiet, necessary reminder of what it means to truly make something.
2- Journey of Reflection — Kia
Via Turati 34 — until 26 April
An immersive journey into the designer’s inner world. Kia’s installation unfolds across three creative profiles — Culture Vanguard, Creative Risk-takers, Relentless Innovators — translated into environments that reveal how ideas take shape. Design here isn’t explained. It’s discovered through gazing, daring, and reflecting. Layered and genuinely thought-provoking.
3- Drifting Lights — Preciosa
Foro Buonaparte 68 — until 26 April
Back in the Brera district, Preciosa Lighting presents sixty suspended glass panels brought to life through 3D light mapping — shifting colour and reflection across the space in slow, contemplative waves. Designed by Michael Vasku and Andreas Klug, it’s an exercise in how light alone can define atmosphere and emotion. Calm, precise, and quietly mesmerizing.
